Wilco, of the Joomla core developers has coined a new open source software term: PBF.
There will be an ultra cool period of pizza, fun, and the squashing of Joomla 1.5 bugs! It was announced recenty on the official Joomla Blogs. It will be on December 8 – 9 in New York, Washington and California, in the US.

Earlier in the year, the event Joomla! Day Sydney was held. Part of the day was a Question & Answer section by Andrew Eddie. You can read the entire notes here at the Joomla! Day website. But here is a little tidbit that made me sit up straight:
Why hasn’t the admin interface been re-written?
It has certainly been ‘freshened’. Where 1.5 is a under-the-hood front end blitz, 1.6 will be an under-the-hood backend blitz – among other things.
This is the first I have heard of plans for Joomla! 1.6, and it took my breath away.

I was going back through The Joomla! Team Blog today, looking for some info on RC3, when I came across this post by Brad Baker. Here’s a snippet:
Joomla! 1.5 was the most talked about topic, and everyone just can’t wait for it. It’s certainly made me re-think my priorities and what I might be able to do to help towards the goal of getting 1.5 out as soon as possible.
It feels like a long time ago now, I was in a different job, and was growing a moustache. I had to run from work to get to the cafe on time.
