PBF?…PBF!!

Wilco, of the Joomla core developers has coined a new open source software term: PBF.

There will be an ultra cool period of pizza, fun, and the squashing of Joomla 1.5 bugs! It was announced recenty on the official Joomla Blogs. It will be on December 8 – 9 in New York, Washington and California, in the US.

1.5 Changelog Update

Continuing on my regular jaunt through the deliciousness that is the Joomla! 1.5 CHANGELOG.php file! Five new fixed over the week, and each is more scrumptious than the last.

Joomla! Wins! Again!

Joomla! has won the Packt Publishing Award for Best CMS for the second year in a row.

As written on the Joomla! News site, part of the reason for the award was the amazing progress made in Joomla! 1.5.

This is wonderful, as it really shows people that 1.5 is ready for people to start publishing on, and developing for.

I know that recently, I have begun to make the move to 1.5, it’s worth it! Perhaps especially because 1.5 is so different, that many things will not translate in the transition from 1.0.13. But the earlier you start work, the sooner you can find solutions, which will benefit all users.

1.5 Changelog Update

I have been having some dramas with my SEF URLs in my development version of my Joomla website, so I downloaded the most recent Jomla 1.5 SVN just now to see what the CHANGELOG.php mentioned being changed recently. This made me realise that this is probably some pretty interesting info for people who may not be regularly downloading the SVNs.

I will be posting updates about CHANGELOG.php over the next few months as we get closer to Joomla! 1.5 being released. Future updates will not include past Changelog updates.

I want my Mac OS X 10.5!

I know that everybody (in the mac world) is talking about it, and I know
that it is silly to upgrade a production computer that does not need a new OS upgrade, but oh boy, is it tempting!
